We are from St Hilda's Secondary School. We are called the DRAMA CLUB (DUH!), and we love fun, energy, serious training (well sometimes...), and the LIMELIGHT (definitely)! We are unique in our different ways (but people just call us weird).

Hi.
I'm going to blog about our SYF training sessions with Elnie. :D

1st session :

Elnie played some games with us to make us ready and less sleepy.
Then she introduced us to the "Stanislavski" method.
Inside-out method, and Outside-it method.

Inside-Out :

- Feeling the moment.
- Thoughts and feelings affecting the way you feel.

Outside-In :

- More of Action Reaction.
- External factors affect the way you feel.

Eg) Character has to be tired, so the actor runs 10 rounds around his room to make him feel tired.

Most important : Both needs Sense Memory.

Some notes we all took :

1) Life imitates art, and Art imitates Life. (Similar)
Life Mirrors Art, Art Mirrors Life. (Same) <- We wanna do this.

2) Acting is pretending, Being is real.
We must NOT act, but BE.

Then Elnie talked to us about differences between words and feelings, and talked about our 6 senses.

We did many fun activities relating to our senses, some were emotional but yet fun.
Hmmmm,.

2nd Session :

Firstly, Ms Abidah, our new Teacher i/c, introduced herself to us, and so did we.
We all had fun doing so because we were laughing most of the time. :D

Then Elnie came (with muffins for us :D ).

"Art to mirror Life, Life to imitate Art"

We got to know some new points like ;

Difference between Art and Life is -> AUDIENCE.

We had spent a few minutes figuring that out.
And that was our MAJOR POINT. ;D

And also: NO SOUL = NO FEEL.

Elnie also told us not to act, but just be.
We also did Sense Memory exersises.

And with that, we ended our SYF training (for this year of course. -.---- )
